The increase in use of smartphones and tablets is proving to be a strong impetus for the global Unified Communications market. The UC market includes solutions to unify video, data, voice and mobile applications used to enhance communication. A new study by Grand View Research projects the UC market to value over $75 billion by 2020.
And the winner is…RingCentral. This week the 2014 INTERNET TELEPHONY Labs Innovation Awards were announced and RingCentral proved to win big for its RingCentral Meetings product. Executive Vice President of Innovation at RingCentral, Kira Makagon stated to TMC “It is proof that we are meeting the needs of the new distributed and mobile workforce that leverages novel technologies to efficiently communicate with customers.” This award is only given to the best and most unique offerings in the space.
TMC’s Miguel-Leiva Gomez reported the findings of a new study of the enterprise video market. The research estimates government and education to experience the most growth. Video is being leveraged for e-learning and online education with many doubters gaining interest in implementing this burgeoning technology. Video communication is an optimal way for government to increase productivity and improve collaboration.
StorageDNA announced that it will be working with post-production services company, Gorilla Group and provide it with its archiving software known as DNA Evolution. This more cost-friendly offering offers lower costs and Technical Director for Gorilla Group, Rhodri James believes DNA Evolution offers the right tools to meet deadlines and high-quality results.
