Avistar Launches C3 Integrator for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Making use of the full benefits of the VDI, Avistar will offer the industry's only scalable desktop videoconferencing solution. Avistar C3 Integrator - Citrix Edition now provides support for Citrix XenApp as well, stated the company. Without overburdening the VDI environment, the Avistar C3 Integrator - Citrix Edition gives users on PCs, laptops and thin terminals HD-quality desktop videoconferencing.
Avistar has invested more than 15 years in desktop videoconferencing, addressing the challenges and opportunities videoconferencing brings to users in the office or in a meeting room, on the road, or at a brand office. Avistar C3 platform blends videoconferencing technology with desktop videoconferencing.
Stephen Epstein, chief marketing officer of Avistar said, "Avistar is setting the industry standard for desktop videoconferencing within the VDI environment. As Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop become key components within corporate information technology infrastructures, many organizations demand business-grade desktop videoconferencing. Avistar has been focused on delivering our business-class desktop videoconferencing solutions within the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure. This makes us unique in our industry.”
Avistar C3 Integrator - Citrix Edition enables large-scale and fully managed deployments of voice and video calling by operating efficiently across enterprise LANs and global WANs. Using the Avistar C3 Unified - Microsoft OCS Edition in addition to other Avistar endpoints such as the Avistar C3 Communicator solution, the product integrates seamlessly with unified communications solutions such as Microsoft Office Communicator, states Avistar in a press release.
Recently, the company announced its achievement in delivering high-definition videoconferencing on low-cost thin terminals within VDI environments. The Avistar C3 Integrator is designed to deliver a business-class and standards-based desktop videoconferencing experience. The solution is capable of supporting the Logitech HD Webcam B990 device which allows for H.264 encoding on board the webcam itself. Decoding and additional media processing also takes places within the Avistar C3 Integrator solution.
