Intermedia Expands UC with AnyMeeting Buy

September 12, 2017

Intermedia is expanding on its unified communications capabilities through the acquisition of AnyMeeting. The company announced the move earlier this month. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

AnyMeeting provides video and web conferencing, and webinar services. Those services feature HD video broadcasting, MP4 sharing, recording, registrations, screen sharing, slides, surveys, and more. The company brings to Intermedia more than a million registered users. Among its customers are Groopt, GrowthHackers.com, and Lice Care Clinics of America.

Intermedia offers Office in the Cloud, a suite of backup, file sync, and share solutions; productivity and email offerings; security and compliance solutions; vertical and enterprise solutions; and voice and unified communications. It features 30 cloud business applications.

The company’s Cloud PBX offering enables businesses to eliminate upfront equipment investments and lower operational costs. Its voice and UC suite today also supports conference calling, which is sold under the SmartConferencing from Intermedia brand, and includes SIP trunking, which allows organizations to lower their phone bills and improve reliability.

Intermedia plans to integrate AnyMeeting with its existing offer. Integrated solutions are slated to available starting next year.

“The AnyMeeting acquisition provides SMBs with a suite of easy-to-use applications that will increase productivity through enhanced collaboration, and delivers an even greater breadth of opportunity for our partners,” stated Michael Gold, CEO of Intermedia, which has more than 6,500 channel partners. “Our UCaaS offering will soon be our largest product line, and our AnyMeeting acquisition enables us to accelerate to the next phase as we offer an even broader portfolio of UC applications.”

Global Market Insights says the overall UC market is poised to reach $96 billion by 2023. And it notes the expected proliferation of hosted products in this category.
