Conferencing Zone Week in Review: Conferencing Benefits Spread Across Sectors
Welcome to another look at all the top stories making headlines in the conferencing market this week. We had a nice mix of articles to remind us of the benefits conferencing brings to different markets this week.
For businesses, conferencing can help with corporate culture and keeping employees invested in the business even as more of us are working remotely and having less in-person contact.
Remote workforces have been shown to be better for costs and for work-life balance. It’s also a good tactic for companies looking to expand into new markets. But keeping all of these employees happy and dedicated to their work can be challenging. Conferencing can be a giant help on this front by helping to improve personal relationships and foster collaboration between teammates.
Conferencing is also proving to be beneficial for those who have loved ones currently in prison. A most recent report looks at how using conferencing for inmates at Rikers Island is bringing hope.
In Brooklyn, NY there is already a program in place through 22 library branches that will connect Rikers Island inmates with their families on the outside. The hope is to not just ease the burden on traveling to the prison and going through the motions for in-person visits while still keeping the intimacy of seeing your loved ones. According to findings, its also likely that inmates who maintain strong relationships while in jail will be less likely to commit crimes in the future.
Yet another report this week on the benefits of conferencing looked at how it helps in the education sector.
Metro Nashville Public Schools and the teachers’ union are working to make collaborative conferencing sessions possible to help ease the burden of in person meetings for work related issues.
Finally this week, Midwich also announced its added Atlona's cloud-based conferencing solution to its offering. The trade-only distributor of tech solutions will now offer the AT-UHD-HDVS-300 Kit soft codec conferencing system. The two-piece kit is made up of the AT-UHD-HDVS-300-TX and HDBaseT transmitter.
That’s all for this week – be sure to check back for all the latest Conferencing news as it happens. Until next week…
