Polycom Gains Industry Recognition

August 18, 2016

Polycom is a name well known in the industry already as a leader in human collaboration technologies. Everything from secure video to voice and content solutions from the company are being used across the globe to help improve customer service, increase productivity, better education and even save lives.

Most recently a testament to the importance of these capabilities came as two influential analysts firms separately chose Polycom as a leader in their videoconferencing market reports.

Polycom was named in both Gartner’s July 2016 Group Video Systems Magic Quadrant report as well as the IDC MarketScape report on Worldwide Enterprise Videoconferencing Equipment. And this wasn’t the first time they were named winners for these reports. This is the second year in a row the company was recognized by Gartner and the third consecutive time they have been named by IDC.

Not only was the company’s record and strengths in the enterprise space a key to their receiving recognition, but the company’s ability to easily integrate with other offerings and keep complexity to a minimum was also an important factor. For example the offering integrates with Microsoft Skype for Business without the need for any gateways so costs can be kept low and user experiences are improved.

Jim Kruger, Chief Marketing Officer at Polycom said the company was, “pleased to be recognized as a Leader in open standards-based interoperability which is critical for creating a broader network of people to connect with.”

“We believe the recognition of two of the industry's most influential analyst firms provides validation of our vision, strategy and solutions in the video collaboration market,” Kruger said.
