Video Chatting with Celebrities Now Possible

July 19, 2016

Onlooker Live is a new app that allows fans to video chat with athletes and celebrities. That’s right, you read that correctly. You now have the capability to have a safe, private mobile video chat with those you admire, including people like LaGarrette Blount, Ryan Grant, Brandon Kozun, Ronda Rousey and many more. Now instead of waiting in long lines for an autograph, hoping to get a selfie or a few words in with your favorite celebrity before the next fan pushes you out of the way, you can have a one-on-one conversation with them that will last for about five minutes. Talk about a dream come true for hardcore fans.

So how does it work? Essentially, all you have to do it download the Onlooker Live app from their website or the App Store, sign in using Twitter and then request a video chat time with one of the featured celebrities. The athlete or celebrity will choose what times they are available to chat, set up the session and then advertise it on their social media so that users know when they will be around. Each session can either be free or have a fee. If there is a fee, the user will be charged and the money will go toward the celebrity personally or a charity of their choice.

LeGarrette Blount, running back for the New England Patriots, said of his experience, “After Tom showed me the Onlooker app, I was able to raise 10K for St. Jude's.” Similarly, Sidney Crosby, captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins, commented “The Onlooker app let's me connect with my fans for video chat and I earned $250K for my charity!” Clearly, the app is not only great for fans who want to talk to their favorite athletes or celebrities, but for various charities as well.

The Onlooker Live app is the first of its kind in the market. Nothing else gives you the same kind of personal interaction with celebrities. Both people involved in the conversation are kept safe because no personal details are shared. It’s just a fun, nice way for celebrities and athletes to connect with their fans, while simultaneously raising money for a cause or to help their own pursuits. As the app gains in popularity, the number of athletes and celebrities willing to interact with their fans via video chat is sure to grow.

Darren Burke, CEO of Onlooker Live, commented on the ingenuity of the app by saying, “Professional athletes and other celebrities now have a novel way to interact with their large social media following.” He continued to say, “I think they appreciate that we give them an opportunity to interact safely but closely with their fan base and to raise funds for charity or their own brand interests with our platform.” They’re not the only ones who appreciate this innovative app; fans are ecstatic at this opportunity. With celebrities, athletes and fans all being happy and enjoying the experience, the app is sure to be a hit.
