AGT Updates Video Conferencing Mobile App

August 16, 2013

AGT unveiled an updated version of its EncoreB2B mobile app, which connects video-enabled mobile devices with HD video conferencing systems, Web browsers and unified communications clients. The upgraded app includes a new interface and several new features, including the ability to multitask on the device while maintaining audio connectivity.

EncoreB2B is designed to provide connectivity between H.323 and SIP-based video conferencing, and mobile devices. This capability enables vendors or clients to make a video call from their mobile device directly to a video endpoint.

“We are continually focused on delivering a mobile video solution that delivers a high-quality, hassle-free video connection across multiple devices and networks,” said Todd Jacobson, vice president of product development at AGT. “Purpose-built for today’s mobile workforce, the latest EncoreB2B app takes the off-network video experience to the next level and delivers our partners customization that is unheard of in our market.”

Other new features include the ability to view and connect to meetings based on previous meetings history, move and modify video and content placement during meeting, turn the device camera on and off device in the middle of a meeting while maintaining connection, and a simplified login process for guests.

EncoreB2B uses AGT’s firewall traversal technique Mobile Pathway Protocol, which uses already open and secure firewall ports to extend video communication beyond the conference room to tablets and smartphones without requiring any special firewall traversal devices, system registration or IT intervention. EncoreB2B attaches to Cisco, Polycom, Compunetix and Microsoft Lync infrastructure.

The technology is available in three packages: gateway devices that attach to an existing MCU, in a client premise-based PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) architecture, or via the cloud. The EncoreB2B app is available for both iOS and Android devices. The app requires no federation, registration or certification.
