Media Network Services' MCU1.com Ready for Launch Following Successful Beta Testing

January 16, 2013

Media Network Services (MNS) recently announced the introduction of MCU1.com. The launching of MCU1.com was carried out following a successful beta testing period which involved 100+ beta testers from across the globe. MCU1.com, which has been developed as a software-based MCU and will be provided as a SaaS offering via video conferencing service providers and or resellers, is now operational with Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) infrastructure spanning the Americas, APAC, and Europe.

In a statement, Hans Fredrik Johansen, CEO of MNS, said that, “For too long high complexity has been a major barrier to mass-adoption of video conferencing, both within organizations as well as B2B. With MCU1.com, we lower that barrier and provide the video conferencing industry with arguably the easiest-to-use MCU ever created combined with the best possible global reach available."

MCU1.com will help in ensuring that users are in complete control over their collaboration environments, while also providing them with the robust global reach of the MNS Global Network Service. Enterprises leveraging MCU1.com will be able to benefit from enhanced quality of collaborative efforts internally and also with their external stakeholders irrespective of their location.

Kjell Oksendal, CMO, and SVP Global Alliances at MNS said that, “MCU1.com is a win-win for both the sales channel and the end-clients. The sales channel gets a MCU that strengthens their existing portfolio and drives mass-adoption without upfront investment while end-clients can enjoy collaboration in an easy-to-use HD environment with stakeholders anywhere in the world.”

MNS’ global network services can be used by video conferencing service providers in offering customers with any-to-any video calling services. Designed to be network, equipment, vendor, reseller and service partner agnostic, the MNS global network services offering helps in ensuring connectivity among all the different islands within the video conferencing industry.
