Dan Marchetto, a video conferencing industry veteran, has joined IOCOM, a provider of universal video conferencing solutions, as vice president of business development.

Marchetto, who has over 25 years of experience, most recently served as president and CEO at MediaPlus Distribution.

An industry veteran, Dan Marchetto has held leadership positions in a variety of organizations, including Phoenix Audio Technologies, Polycom (News - Alert), USRobotics, ClearOne and Review Video.

He is a board member of the International Multimedia and Collaborative Communications Alliance (IMCCA).

Officials with IOCOM said that as vice president of business development based out of the company’s Chicago headquarters, Marchetto will be responsible for growing and managing the company’s rapidly emerging partner relationships.

Marchetto will be recruiting and supporting resellers, systems' integrators, A/V dealers and other collaboration solution providers interested in offering IOCOM's software-based video conferencing platform, Visimeet, to their customers.

"I am ecstatic to be joining IOCOM at such a pivotal time in the industry," Marchetto said in a statement. "We are at an inflection point with the focus on software-based solutions, with options for cloud access and delivery, and IOCOM with Visimeet has the superior solution bar none."

Tim Hackett, CEO at IOCOM, said that in a market that's filled with increasing competition due to saturated incumbent channel programs, shrinking margins and slowing hardware sales, more business partners are turning to IOCOM's partner program for their video conferencing solutions.

"We're excited to have Dan join our team to lead our efforts as his knowledge of the video conferencing industry and the leading VARs goes unmatched," said Hackett.

Earlier in October, IOCOM announced that AVConf System Ltd. will join its channel network as a preferred partner, servicing customers in Romania and Eastern Europe.

AVConf is a Romanian-based organization offering enterprises numerous audio and video collaboration services.

As a preferred partner, AVConf will host, support and sell Visimeet, IOCOM’s software-based video conferencing and collaboration solution. Visimeet operates over any network on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android (News - Alert) devices, and integrates with Polycom, Cisco and other hardware-based telepresence suites.
