Polycom (News - Alert), specializing in open standards-based unified communications and collaboration, announced that India-based Bajaj Group is using Polycom RealPresence video solutions to enhance business operations.

Bajaj Group sought to implement a solution to help eliminate delays, speed operations and improve efficiencies. Besides streamlining operations, Bajaj has successfully reduced operation costs and improved collaboration between the company’s corporate headquarters in Mumbai and Noida, its group companies, and six power plants located in remote locations across India – using the Polycom solution.

The Bajaj Group ranks among the top 10 business conglomerates in India with interests in power generation, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), coal mining, sugar manufacturing, ethanol production and real estate.

Officials said the Polycom solution helped the company improve delivery times on projects and productivity. Travel time, carbon footprint and expenses have also been controlled effectively.

Before implementing the Polycom solutions, Bajaj staff and key senior officials traveled to in-person meetings during the construction, operation and maintenance phase in the power business, as quick decisions, that don’t have time for slower modes of communication, have to be made.

Polycom’s RealPresence video solutions, including Polycom RealPresence Desktop solutions; the Polycom VVX 1500 business media phone with video collaboration; Polycom RealPresence Immersive and RealPresence HDX Room solutions have enabled the Bajaj Group to enhance communications in all their business units.

The enhanced collaboration in business-critical processes proved advantageous to the company. Real-time video collaboration has been readily adopted by Bajaj employees who leverage it for internal meetings, project reviews, HR interviews and training.

Polycom’s RealPresence solutions encompass the boardroom, conference rooms, desktop and mobile environments. Remote teams can make video calls from anywhere and share content in real time, and record it too.

This saves time, resources and enables knowledge sharing, added officials.

Polycom’s RealPresence Platform interoperable software infrastructure for universal HD video collaboration powers the solution for Bajaj. It ensures optimum provisioning, management, scalability, reliability and security. Polycom also included a new suite of open APIs to the platform to facilitate the development of custom applications.

Recently, Polycom introduced a series of new customer financing options that reportedly put UC&C solutions within reach of more customers.
