One of the U.S.’s largest conferencing providers,, has reportedly aligned itself to a fundraising effort. As a part of this initiative, the Long Beach-based company will raise $15,000 and sponsor Children Today's 4th Annual 5K/10K Run/Walk, which takes place Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Marina Green Park.

This is the fourth consecutive year that will support the Children Today Run/Walk, according to a news release.

In addition, the company plans to make a $20,000 donation to the not-for-profit organization. To accomplish this goal, the company is going to encourage its employees and customers to donate generously to the fund.

An advocate for children facing the challenge of homelessness, Children Today operates two free, licensed, comprehensive child development and day care centers in Long Beach, CA (News - Alert) for homeless children from six weeks to six years of age.

The goal of Children Today is to increase the safety, stability and confidence of children facing homelessness and provide quality early care and education programs absolutely free of charge.

In today's challenging economic times, it is more important than ever to come together as a community and support those who need it most. Children Today's programs support our city's most valuable asset – our children – and we are proud to support the work they are doing for Long Beach families,” said David Erickson (News - Alert), founder and CEO and a native of Long Beach.

Last year, Children Today's 5K/10K Run/Walk raised more than $60,000 for its Play House Programs. This year, the organization hopes to raise $100,000.

The funds help support Children Today's programs, designed to ensure children most in need have access to quality early childcare and education. The programs include no-cost, licensed child care and preschool for children experiencing homelessness and focus on providing children with safety and stability, nutritious meals and clothing.

In addition, Play House programs provide children with caring and nurturing relationships in an educational environment.

“We are extremely grateful for the support we are receiving from the Long Beach community, including the generous commitment by,” said Dora Jacildo, executive director of Children Today. “These donations go directly to support Long Beach children in need and without them, we would not be able to help as many kids. We are appreciative of the community's support and are looking forward to another successful event that will ensure Long Beach children have a support system in place to help them reach their full potential.” recently introduced the company's free conference calling services in Israel.
