Avnet Technology Solutions and Polycom Ink New U.S. and Canadian Distribution Agreement


Avnet Technology Solutions, and Polycom (News - Alert), Inc have recently inked new distribution agreement for the U.S. and Canada.

Both the companies will work together to offer their customers with powerful solutions that can have a significant impact on their operational performance and productivity.

Gavin Miller, vice president of marketing, solutions and sales acceleration, Avnet Technology Solutions (News - Alert), Americas, said Polycom complements Avnet’s solutions-focused market approach and enhances their capabilities in the unified communications and video collaboration market.

Miller further added that, “Avnet’s partners can combine Polycom’s open standards-based solutions with offerings from other industry-leading manufacturers in our portfolio, such as HP, IBM and Microsoft (News - Alert), to develop complete unified communications solutions. We will work closely with our partners to identify collaborative business-building opportunities that span multiple manufacturers’ lines and address the communications infrastructure needs of specific high-growth vertical markets, helping partners to deliver solutions throughout their customers’ enterprises.”

As per the new agreement, Avnet will offer Polycom RealPresencevideo and voice solutions to value-added reseller (VAR) partners. These innovative solutions is said to enable the partners to enhance the growth of their UC businesses by offering these solution to energy, finance, government, healthcare and retail industries.

The RealPresence Platform interoperates with the broadest range of business, mobile, and social applications and devices. More than 400,000 organizations trust Polycom solutions to collaborate and meet face-to-face from any location for more productive and effective engagement with colleagues, partners, customers, specialists, and prospects.
