Essar Group Selects Polycom RealPresence Video Solutions

Polycom (News - Alert) provides HD telepresence and video solutions that are simple to deploy into a normal business workflow because of its open standards-based approach, the company’s innovative software, and the Polycom ecosystem of hundreds of partners. These partners work together to provide the interoperability of multi-vendor solutions. This is important for a company because ease-of-use drives adoption which, in turn, drives ROI.

Recently, Polycom’s RealPresence video solutions were selected by Essar Group as the hub of the company’s enterprise video collaboration network. The company has selected products such as Polycom RealPresence Immersive systems and the Polycom RealPresence Platform.

With the help of a safe, high-definition Polycom video, executives and employees in seven of the company’s core offices around the globe can connect and partner with each other “face-to-face”. Essar is focusing on enhanced productivity – including faster decision making and reduced travel and downtime costs – and business continuity, to get a quick return-on-investment (ROI).

Essar will also make use of the Polycom RealPresence Platform. The company selected these products because of their dependable provisioning, management, scalability, reliability, and security, the company stated in a press release.

“Polycom is focused on making it possible for everyone to use video as their preferred way to collaborate, from the boardroom to the desktop and on mobile devices,” said Neeraj Gill, managing director, India & SAARC, Polycom. “We are pleased that Polycom will help Essar to achieve increased productivity and more effective collaboration and engagement across their global operations.”

The company recently announced important updates to its RealPresence Platform. New features for RealPresence Video Content Management include updates for Polycom RSS 4000 Recording and Streaming Server and Polycom RealPresence Media Manager. Users can use Polycom solutions with all the major players in Web conferencing to improve meetings, training events, lectures and presentations with interactive HD video.
