Glowpoint Now Offers Video B2B Exchange Services to 450 Enterprises



Glowpoint (News - Alert), a global provider of cloud managed video services, announced that its video business-to-business (B2B) exchange services now reach around 450 enterprises.

Nearly 450 enterprises utilize Glowpoint’s services for telepresence and video conferencing meetings, making Glowpoint the operator of the world's largest multi-vendor, global business-to-business exchange for telepresence and video conferencing, company officials said.

Moreover, more than 39,000 unique video endpoints are certified and reachable on Glowpoint's B2B exchange. At present, nearly 200 companies are publicly listed in Glowpoint's global exchange directory.

“Customers want to use telepresence and video conferencing to collaborate with partners and customers as easily as they do today with their phones and the Web,” said Stephen Vobbe, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for Glowpoint, in a statement.

“Our OpenVideo cloud provides managed business-to-business exchange services that enable secure and simple visual collaboration across different networks and video conferencing systems, allowing our customers to realize the full value of their investment in video,” Vobbe added.

Companies which are connected to Glowpoint B2B exchange belong to diverse industries such as banking and finance, healthcare and medicine, manufacturing, law enforcement, hospitality and travel, and technology.

They benefit from access to directory and scheduling services to connect with each other via immersive telepresence or video conferencing systems from solution providers including CiscoPolycom, and LifeSize.  

Recently, Glowpoint announced that it received nearly $1.6 million in equity financing. The company also announced it completed a transaction to acquire certain assets used by Avaya (News - Alert) in its managed service for video.

The assets acquired include video conferencing and telepresence endpoints as well as network infrastructure which may be utilized to deliver cloud managed video services to enterprise customers.
