Nefsis Adds Dual- and Multi-Monitor Support to Video Conferencing Online Service

June 06, 2011

San Diego, Calif.-based Nefsis has added dual- and multi-monitor support to its video conferencing online service.

Thanks to the addition of multi-monitor support, business users now have more flexibility in arranging multipoint HD videos and live sharing screens across two or more monitors in desktop and conference room settings.

This added flexibility is useful for online board meetings, sales presentations, and remote training programs, said company officials.

“Our multi-monitor support highlights the advantages of cloud-based video conferencing and off-the-shelf peripherals: tons of flexibility for any size business for any application, desktop to conference room,” said Tom Toperczer, vice president of marketing at Nefsis.

It’s seen that in conference rooms, dual, flat-panel monitors have become a mainstream configuration. This is especially true where a multi-purpose conference room PC is used for data display and online video conferencing.

With Nefsis, any combination of floating, picture-in-picture, or tiled videos and live data sharing on any monitor is possible. Giving an example, participants can have all the videos on one monitor, while all the presentation materials are on the other.

Moreover, the Nefsis cloud provides all the technical capabilities that have been traditionally provided by multipoint video conferencing infrastructure. These capabilities include video routing, multichannel mixing, and desktop gateway services.

Company officials said that customers can browse the Web using a webcam or HD peripheral to join a video conference. Plus, customers, having adequate bandwidth and can use the Nefsis cloud and its peripheral-agnostic capabilities to create their own telepresence studio with multiple HD displays.

In comparison to proprietary telepresence systems, this do-it-yourself approach comes with several advantages such as lower cost, industry standard SSL security, and desktop reach -- widely regarded pitfalls of current telepresence systems, said company officials.

Multi-monitor support is available now to all Nefsis subscribers and trial users.

Nefsis is a technology specialist in video conferencing software and cloud computing online services. The company's global cloud provides multipoint HD video and advanced collaboration tools to business, government and educational customers in more than 45 countries worldwide.

Earlier last month, Nefsis enhanced its cloud-based video conferencing solution, a solution that requires less capital expense and offers a free trial and month-to-month service and unlimited scalability.
