SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 3, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Agora.io (www.agora.io), the global leader in real-time communications, today released Agora Mobile Gaming (AMG) SDK, a new developer tool that allows game developers to embed real-time voice chat into mobile games on iOS and Android platforms. With effortless integration requiring only a couple lines of code, developers can give players more immersive social experiences that boost engagement and satisfaction. By adding live voice chat, game players are able to speak to one another as they battle for victory.

As part of a beta launch in Asia, AMG SDK has been integrated into a number of popular mobile games such as Werewolf, Xiaomi Mi Combat and Snake Off. Millions of players are actively utilizing the games' voice chat functionalities, with user penetration rates ranging from 30 percent to 100 percent.

AMG SDK is designed for a variety of gaming genres such as casual, social, FPS, MMORPG and MOBA.

The SDK is compatible with major game engines, including Unity, Unreal, Cocos and SpriteKit, allowing developers to integrate native voice capabilities for a multitude of different in-game modes. The SDK features

  • Support for one-on-one, group and one-to-many voice chats
  • Unlimited number of participants
  • Proprietary 32kHz ultra-wideband voice for optimal voice quality
  • Lowest, best-in-class global latency at 76ms end-to-end transmission
  • 180-degree spatial sound, in-game voice commands and sound effects
  • Low power consumption, designed to reduce device battery drain
  • 20-percent-lower CPU usage and 50-percent-lower RAM usage (benchmarked against industry average)

"Gaming is one of the fastest-growing industries but game developers need to stay ahead of trends in order to remain relevant and competitive," said Tony Zhao, founder and CEO at Agora.io. "Social and mobile gaming experiences will be at the core of tomorrow's top hits, so we're giving developers the tools to give their users exactly what they desire, in this case in-game voice chat."

Developers can rely on Agora's Software Defined Real-Time Network (SD-RTN) -- a global network of 100 distributed data centers -- to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences regardless of the user's geographic location. Agora's high concurrency architecture supports tens of millions of active sessions daily with 99 percent resiliency and availability.

As the most widely adopted real-time communications solution globally, Agora has more than 30,000 registered developers and processed 7.5 billion minutes of communications across voice, video and interactive broadcasting to date.
