Groundwater Remediation Webinar Will Highlight Field Study Results on PersulfOx™, a New Catalyzed Persulfate Technology from REGENESIS

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

REGENESIS, a leader in the development of advanced environmental remediation technologies, will host a free online technical presentation (webinar) titled "Remediation Field Studies Evaluating the Effectiveness of Catalyzed Persulfate (PersulfOx™) vs. Base-Activated Persulfate" on Thursday, February 21, 2013, from 11:00 AM to noon Pacific Standard Time. The webinar will focus on two groundwater remediation field study sites where both PersulfOx and conventional base-activated persulfate were applied to treat petroleum hydrocarbons. The online presentation will be hosted by REGENESIS and given by Rick McGregor, President of InSitu Remediation Services Ltd., who performed the actual remediation at both field sites. Rick, a hydrogeologist and geochemist by training, is widely recognized as an expert in his field. Collectively he has worked in the groundwater and soil remediation industry for over 20 years in both research and field application.

The webinar presentation will feature information on two remediation projects, one with heating oil in fractured bedrock and one with gasoline in a shallow, unconfined, silty sand aquifer. The studes were designed to evaluate the performance of conventional base-activated persulfate vs. the PersulfOx reagent with respect to treatment results as well as material delivery, subsurface distribution, and other significant parameters. PersulfOx is a safe, easy-to-handle in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO (News - Alert)) reagent that destroys common groundwater contaminants on contact. PersulfOx is unique in that it was engineered with a built-in catalyst that eliminates complex and potentially hazardous chemical activation used in traditional persulfate application.
