In addition to algorithm updates, the webinar will discuss the rise of social media platforms such as Google+ and Pinterest and how businesses can use these to build their Web presence. The importance of Pinterest will be discussed as it currently drives more referral traffic that Google+, LinkedIn, and YouTube combined, and began allowing brands to have corporate accounts at the end of November. Negative SEO, the rel-author tag, and Author Rank will be explained at the SEO webinar in an easy-to-comprehend context for marketers who want to keep up with the latest website optimization trends.

Additional topics will include Google's new link disavow tool, which enables webmasters to ask the search engine to discount low-quality links they do not control, if it is believed these have harmed the site's ranking. Kaila Strong will stress that this tool is not a means out of optimizing a site following the Penguin or Panda updates, and will explain the proper way to use it.
