Yellowfin 6.2 to Reveal a Better Way to Consume and Act on BI content

Nov 22, 2012 ( via COMTEX) -- Register for the official Webinar launch here: The Yellowfin 6.2 Webinar will unveil major additions to Yellowfin's Collaborative BI capabilities, including a fully integrated collaboration and presentation platform for BI. This new feature, and method for BI content - BI user interaction, is set to boost Yellowfin's already infamous reputation for Collaborative BI.

"We don't want to give to much away yet, but this platform is set to change the way the market perceives the purpose of BI, and the way organizations make decisions," said Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie. "This development will create a new paradigm in BI and business communication, enabling users to integrate fully interactive data-rich presentations into their natural decision-making processes, to generate an analytics culture, realize BI ROI and drive real fact-based action." Historically, the BI industry has been plagued by notoriously poor success rates, with user adoption reported to be anywhere between eight and 24 percent. Global technology analyst and advisory firm, Gartner, has previously stated that 80 percent of BI projects fail, citing poor communication and collaboration as the primary reasons.

Rable said that Yellowfin's soon-to-be-unveiled mechanism for communicating and sharing BI content would directly address the issues highlighted by Gartner.

"BI has a problem - it doesn't deliver a ROI; not by itself anyway," said Rabie. "BI end-users generate business value and BI ROI when they utilize BI content to make more efficient and effective decisions. But, the tricky part is that most BI users don't want to build reports, no matter how easy it is to do. They just want to use fact-based insight to make better decisions.

"To do that, they need to be able to easily consume, share, interact and collaborate with their data. Yellowfin is about to revolutionize the way that this decision-making process takes place.

"As companies, we spend a lot of time and money working out how to capture information. I think allowing people to connect to and share that knowledge is what good business analytics and information management is all about."
