Top-Ranked Business School Applauds Magor's Visual Quality

OTTAWA, Ontario, Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Internationally recognized as one of the top business schools, the Richard Ivey School of Business (Ivey) at Western University, has chosen and deployed Magor's visual collaboration solution for its superior quality video experience and technical support over other solutions on the market today.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20121107/LA07668) Darren Eveland, Manager, of IT at Ivey, wanted a new solution that would deliver high-definition video to enhance professor-student interaction without the complications of having to use a centralized bridge. After a competitive RFP process, the Business School selected Magor's Visual Collaboration WorkSpace over other more traditional video conferencing solutions.

With an emphasis on practical and relevant, real-world issues, the Richard Ivey School of Business regularly invites high-profile, international business leaders to take part in presentations to students via video beamed to classrooms, amphitheaters and overflow rooms on campus in London, Ont.

Magor's flagship software product, Visual Collaboration WorkSpace, offered a reliable solution to fulfill the school's demand for video activity by providing a greater array of capabilities beyond traditional video participation. The Magor technology also removed the need for complicated scheduling of facilities, making room-to-room video calls simple to arrange.

Magor's Visual Collaboration WorkSpace software is also highly interoperable with other systems and runs on standard, off-the-shelf computers, providing significant cost-saving benefits to the Ivey Business School. It also removes the need to purchase additional bridging infrastructure or upgrade a multipoint control unit (MCU) to support high-definition video.

"We saw how easy Magor's solution is to use, and the video quality was great," said Eveland. "Importantly, Magor doesn't require a bridge or booking system, which were key factors that immediately attracted us to their solution." But beyond the quality that Magor delivers, it was customer support that also factored into the School's decision, he said.

"I've been in IT for 20 years and have never worked with a company that is so responsive and willing to help," Eveland said. "They have been there for us every step of the way during our implementation and we look forward to continuing to work with them in the future." "Top-notch customer support is a commitment Magor makes to each of its customers," said President and CEO Mike Pascoe.

"Magor works very closely with its customers and technology service providers, such as Scalar Decisions, to assure we have a strong customer relationship focused on providing exemplary technical support and service," he said.

Scalar Decisions, which holds the commercial relationship with Ivey, is a trusted channel partner of Magor's and one of the global channel alliances that distributes Magor software licensing agreements. Magor also distributes directly to customers via sales offices in London, Hong Kong, Toronto, New York, San Diego and Rio de Janeiro.
